Has anyone tried CFE in the .308? The new Hodgdon manual shows some really impressive velocities, but I waded through about half of the "Good .308 loads" thread, and didn't see anything good or bad about CFE. The loads in the Hodgdon book make me wonder if CFE is what they used in the late, unlamented .30 TC.
I've already got plenty of H4895, Varget, RL10, RL15, and some Benchmark.

Planning on trying it with 155s here in a few days. I have some on the way to try. I am loading 17 right now but the cases are kinda full for loading on a progressive. I ran the cfe through quickload and it seems like it might be the ticket.

Pretty close to 3000 with 150s. Not too shabby.

I have been using CFE in my 308 for the last two months. CCI 200 primer, mostly Remington brass. Bullets have been the 150g Sierra SPBT and the 165g Sierra HPBT. I dont have my notes handy, but i think i did 49 to 51 grains with the 150 and 47 to 49 with the 165s. Velocities for both were 2600 to 2800. The top of both these charges were still 1 grain below max so there was still room to run. I wasn't chasing speed, just accuracy, and i settled with the 165 running at 2725 average. I shot a deer at 460 yards with it (posted the details in the hunting rifles section). The CFE meters great, i couldnt be happier with it.

My experience with CFE in the 308 has been great and is my go to powder for it now. I easily reach 3000fps with 150s at the 50.5 gr mark and rem brass. But work up ..my experiences are similar to those of cotis..My accuracy in both the 308 and 7-08 with CFE have been excellent!

Thanks, guys. I was already convinced by the velocities, but wondered about the accuracy.
Not that the .308 is ordinarily a big fouler, but do you see any difference in the amount of copper you're getting as compared to other powders?
