Looking to sell my Ruger 77 in 270 win. It's in excellent condition - no marks on wood or metal. Will include rings and Bushnell 3-9x40 scope. Serial number 77-408xx. Looking for $550 plus shipping to your ffl. Would also consider trade for Browning BLR in 7mm-08, 308 or 358. Please pm or email me (burger7954 aol.com) for pictures. Thanks, Mike

By the way, the last pic has a hair from my dog on the wood under the bolt. It is not a crack or scratch in the wood.

My first serious center fire, purchased in mid 70s, is just such a gun. I put in a Timney trigger. Sealed the wood. Bedded the action. Matte finished the metal. Mounted a 6x Leupy in Weaver Pivot Mounts (for easy access to the iron sights). Shoots 130s and 150s under an inch and at near same poi. I have killed a lot with it from a red squirrel to elk. I have requested it be buried with me.
Some one should snag this gun. jmho Tim

Michigan, Thank you for the kind words. Not sure if Rugers are known for their triggers but this one is great, no creep and breaks like a glass rod. The only reason I'm selling it is because I have another .270 and a 30-06 so I don't use this one (as you can tell by the pics). Also, I'd like to add a Browning BLR to my safe in its place and my wife will kill me if I add another rifle without selling another. The rifle is in great shape and the bluing is as nice as I've seen on any rifle. If anyone wants additional pictures, please let me know what you want me to focus on and I'll get them posted. Thanks, Mike

Most of my Rugers have factory triggers that have been tuned up a little. The Timney was just something I had to do. My 270 looks a little tired, but for a good reason. Good luck selling. Tim

This gun in 30.06 was the first gun I ever purchased myself. If I hadn't just acquired TWO .270's I'd be all over this. Happen to have a BLR LW in .308 too.

Uncle, How do you like the BLR? Any negatives? I'll be honest. I've bought so many guns lately I haven't even been able to shoot it. The fit, feel and quality are top notch on this gun IMHO. I have around 9 new guns I've got to shoot in the next few weeks that I've yet to send the first round down the barrel. Edit to add. I've been out of work due to medical leave with back issues. My wife is going insane telling me to please go back to the office, otherwise she won't have anywhere to put a dish on the table because of all the guns laying around. HAH!

mikestaten...My dad had a BLR in .308 that he gave to my youngest son after he shot his first buck with it. He bought it in the late 70's along with a matching .358.
Both have been very good guns. I shot a muley buck with the .308 probably 20 years ago. Accuracy was 1.5 inches with factory loads. The trigger not the best but very serviceable.
I really like the BLR.
By the way if I was looking for a .270 this would be on it's way to my house right now!
