Anyone running the 180 Sierra RN for deer out of the 300 savage? My 99 shoots the 150 bullet too high through the installed lyman tang sight but the 180 impacts just right at 100 yds. The tang sight is as low as it will go and the only other thing to do is to replace the front sight with a higher one.

It is designed for the .308 class of cartridge so should work fine in the .300 Sav.

Seen a lot of 99's with taller front sights when running a tang sight on back.

I use the 180 grain power point, but the Sierra is good too. Work up to a max charge of W760 and see what you get. I get moderate speed and tremendous accuracy. Ken Waters was right on the money with that one when he noted it was extremely accurate.
