Thank you for asking.

It depends on the species. Some do, others do not. Either way, they may come out on nice days in the winter.

My wife's parents moved to Ennis MT last fall. We are planning a trip there in the spring. Does anyone know if there are prairie dogs in that area? Fil says he doesn't see any.

Travis, if you are having that much trouble finding storage for your 22lr I can help. PM me for the shipping address.

If we did, we wouldn't tell you.

Hope this helps.

I charge $100.00 per month to store my belongings for me.

PM if interested.

Was that with one of those new-fangled plastic-tipped bullets you keep telling me about?

Nope, old fashioned Hollow point of the Remington 50 grain PLHP variety. I discovered the plastic tips a while later, but you will remember how I shared that knowledge with you.

You want to shoot prairie dogs Saturday, I hear it will get somewhere near 15 degrees. It is also my birthday and you could bring me a nice present...

Holy [bleep]! It's like Easter and New Years all in one!

Is it true Steve Hornady didn't import plastic tipped bullets to Montana until you called him?

I was paying 18-19$ for a brick of 525 at Bi-Mart before the shortage.

Shrap,

Thanks very much for the invitation/begging.

Unfortunately for you, Eileen will be returning from a business trip on Friday night, so we plan to "celebrate" (however you want to interpret that word) upon reuniting over the weekend.

I also don't believe aerodynamics allow prairie dogs to fly like that with cheap-ass bullets. Further, at 15 degrees even your supposedly magical plastic-tips will no doubt fragment before they even arrive. Polymers become very brittle in cold temperatures, as everybody except you knows.

The celebration includes coming over to the Livingston gun show and bringing me a birthday present?

If you had spent more time in R&D before you wrote your articles, you would know that in cold weather, you seat the bullet in backwards and the tip won't fall out in the magazine that way and the warmth from the powder will keep that plastic tip in perfect alignment...
