I have a Rem 700 in '06 that I'd like to get free floated and glass/pillar bedded. I know I could do it myself, but I'd like to have it done professionally (and spend my time shooting...) I'd like to avoid the hassle and expense of sending it out, so I'm looking for a good, reasonably priced person within an hour or so drive of Denver, CO to do the work. Anyone know anyone?

Dan Dowling, 970-434-0525, is in Palisades, Co. I don't know how far that is from you, but if it's close, Dan has a very good reputation for doing nice work. Gre-Tan (Greg Tannel) is in Kersey, Co., 970-356-5940, and also has a very good reputation. I have spoken to him personaly and he is a very nice man. I don't know if he does bedding though...he may be a strictly metal working shop.

Hope this helps,
Justin

Greg will do a bedding job. Could try West Wind Rifles in Erie, his name is Dave Sullivan.

Second vote for Greg Tannel. He does pillar bedding or plain glass bedding your choice. I would go with pillars.

Kevin Weaver www.weaverrifles.com does excellent bedding work. I will acually be bringing a stock and action down to him from Denver this week to build a 7-08AI. He is just east of Colo Springs. PM me if you are interested in sending something down to him and maybe I can help you out. I am in the Southeast metro Denver area and will be driving to see Kevin later this week.

Realwood, I thought Weaver was in Grand Junction? Am I thinking of someone else, or did he move?

Realwood--thanks for the offer. I am actually driving down that way tomorrow (to Walsenburg, actually) I may try to swing by. If it doesn't work out, I'll drop you a line. I appreciate the help.

Thanks guys for the other suggestions, too. I'd probably stay on this side of the rockies if I can help it. Erie and CO Springs are close. If not, who can beat a drive in the mountians in spring!
