Lack of upper teeth, deep tear ducts, longer ears, whitetail "tail". It was chasing mule deer does when spotted and doing the same thing the following day when shot. Also had the longer hair frequently seen on mule deer hooves.

Very odd duck. Had to call the local warden to obtain instructions on how to tag it. He said mule deer.

First I've ever seen and I've hunted both for a long time. Same thing with hunting bud who was with me. He told me he didn't believe it could happen and there was one at his feet.

Lack of upper teeth

None of our native deer (whitetail and mulies included) have upper incisors. A great trick question in one of my wildlife classes. Just a hard pad. Bugle teeth in elk, but none in deer.

Nice buck regardless of heritage.

Perhaps I should've measured the metatarsals. Sigh.

Hi Karnis. What a beauty. Wish there were more of the cross breeds out there. Great rack and my heart would still be pounding.

Add me to the following of well wishers glad to see you.

Hey- I am about to head to the range and fire off all my mixed remaining loads so I can start fresh if interested.
