Has anyone ever done an acid forced patina on a rifle barrel? I see lots of blueing, painting, coating and such but nothing like an acid forced patina. It works on knives would it work on a rifle barrel assuming all the old bluing and rust was removed? It looks good on knives, almost like damascus.

I use "Browning" solution for antiquing guns. Follow the instructions on the label to control the level of rusting and the results are impressive.
