Parker-Ballard 98 Mauser with tang safety, bought new in 1974. Roguard finish with NP3 on the bolt, Dakota-style MPI stock, 4x scope. Deer slayer supreme.

A lot of nice 06's. They do seem to be fairly popular. I'll add one more to the pile, mannlicher/schonauer built in 1952. Still shoots quite well.

Hhhmmmm. That rifle has changed a bit since I last saw it! Very nice! How does the FW contour work in the Legend? Looks good from the side... IMO it works great!

That is just about perfect right there! I am in process of putting one together just like that - any specs on contour, bottom metal and bolt? Penrod? It is a Penrod. The bottom metal is Blackburn, the bolt is Penrods three panel checkered knob and the barrel is Winchester Fwt. Contour.

Here's one of my shots of the new Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 Back Country, with basic specs below. I'm rather fond of this one. After testing, I just HAD to buy it... - .99 in. accuracy guarantee - Weight: 6.75 lb. - Fluted 24 in. barrel - All metalwork in CeraKote "tactical grey" - Pachmayr Decelerator pad - Originally announced as pillar-bedded, but production guns have a full-length aluminum bedding block
If you're fixin' to put a hole in something, make it a hole to remember.

... Great photo! And it showcases how well a stainless rifle mates with matte black optics.

My wife's model 70 carbine: Ray, your wife has one very pretty and sharp 06 there. Love those short barreled carbines, and the wood is absolutely superb. THX wink. That 1942 M70 followed me home from deer camp two Christmas' ago. At my first look, I thought it was a super grade - But its not. Wife took one look at it and confiscated it for herself.

Some nice looking rifles. While I own a .30-06 (Savage 116) not a big fan of the cartridge. I think it's due to the reason that it will do everything I need it to do. If the wife knew that, she would not let me continue to buy rifles. She thinks I already have issues, as I keep telling her I need to buy new scopes all the time.
