Traps gonna learn a new hunting method! I bought a Banded RIP blind and it came in yesterday.Assembled it in my living room, and tried it out for fit. Man, this thing is huge. It's not for the on foot mobile hunter. I wanted a big blind so I could have Trap inside with me.I got it! With the angled sides, Trap can lay beside me with plenty of room to still move around. He needs a bit of practice to figure out his spot in it.

Its heavy and doesn't fold up. Its 64 1/4" wide by about the same long. Its big!
Ill have months to work with Trap and see if it'll work.

That rig should be perfect in your spot down there. Trap would be warm in that sucker.

He's going to be beside you in the blind? That's a lot of dog to be trying to share a blind with and shooting out of it with you... Why not just get him a dog blind?

Be careful talking to Splat these days, he is a little melancholy with season finally closed.

Actually, even with all the room in the RIP blind, I saw a video from a trainer at some expo or store showing how to train your dog to lay behind the seat. It only took a few times for Trap to figure it out. A dog blind is yet another thing to camo in those huge bare corn fields. Slip lead just in case, and no breaking! Trap doesn't get to retrieve at every shot when there is hundreds and hundreds of birds working. He plays clean up. http://s.photobucket.com/user/splattermatic/media/20140212_131626_zpsfld3gmmk.mp4.html Plus added heat, can share my food, and give him a scratch on the head. Plus I like looking at him while we're talking.

Trap seems to be enjoying the off season break. I bet he would do great on hikes with a backpack on.

Well Kurt, Its not all relaxing for him when season is over. He had a great workout today on long marks and blinds on land. Took him over to the pond for a drink and to cool down. You can see the ripples in the water from his panting. Next senior level hunt tests are the end of April. Keeping him in shape and tuned up!

Its been awhile since I've posted anything about Trap, so here's from this past weekend. Took him flyfishing and he was such a good boy. He really wanted the grandsons 20" trout. The water was really cold, so I had him sit on a rock for a bit to warm up.

I missed that pic of Trap in the Kenworth, very cool. I enjoy keeping up with his exploits. Hoping to get my black lab out a bunch this fall.
