Anyone here use Lee REAL bullets?
I bought a .45 250gr. Mold for my new-to-me TC Hawken.

yep I like them in the 1:48 sidelocks and use a lubed wad with them. 70gr pyrodex rs or goex 2f does the trick. I use the 50cal 250 and 300 grain version.

I used them in my 50 cal. Renegade. They were accurate and put deer down with authority. I have a big bag of them laid back somewhere that were given to me after I had already switched to inlines and saboted loads.

Well, hang on to them. TC has discontinued the .45 Maxi-Balls and Cabelas is selling the .50 cal ones for almost $30 for a box of 20. Must be gold-plated.
Thanks for the info.

I bought some to try out in my Lyman's Deerstalker (1:48") and noted that at 50 yds with a 70 grn 3F charge it hit the target waaaaaay left and had keyholed. I happened to have some felt wads and the next 2 were centered and a bit low, but nearly touching. I think my rifle will love them!
Point being they may shoot better with felt wads.

Just so happens I've got some .45 wads from when I was playing with an Old Army.
Some years back, I saw an ad for "special" ML bullets. From the picture, they were just REALs with a felt wad screwed to the bottom.
Assuming I can get them to shoot, I figure the 250s should make a decent deer load. Loaded over 777 or Pyrodex at about 1400-1600 fps, they should thump 'em pretty good. An old TC manual shows up to 1735fps with 100gr. FFG, but that's likely not the sweet spot for accuracy.
Thanks.

I started shooting them in my .54 TC Hawken. When #2 son came online as a ML hunter, I got him fixed up with .50 R.E.A.L for his Mossy 500 ML barrel. Next, my buddy got a Traditions inline ML and I turned him onto the .50 R.E.A.L.
So far everyone in our camp thinks they're great.

I've used 45s and 50s, both very accurate.
