I love to shoot big bores, but it's more than a bit obvious that these guys haven't any love for it, nor any clue on how to go about it. I'd describe the entire thing as rather sad......... Jones to be an obsessive tinkerer and this is one of his creations and not his only over 50 cal gun......im guessing like most inventors stuff like this wasnt done by him to be practical but to see if he could and what it would actually be like to fire instead of just crunching numbers on paper and looking at "277 foot pounds of free recoil" scrawled in pen in front of you....the guy has come up with a fair number of truly useful wildcats for specialist applications.... A serious student of the "Armchair Safari" always looking for Africa/Asia hunting books

They could have had 450 ft lbs recoil, If they hadn't cut off 40% of the necked down 20mm Vulcan case they made the cartridge from. Should have went full length like we did with our 4ga From Hell we made from 20mm. In pic is cases we made, original 20mm and an 06. Full 1 inch bore size..Ed Ed Hubel
