Awwh Yes, Deviled Ham, I forgot all about that little morsel of highly nutritious cuisine. Haven't had any of it years.

Spam is good to me... If you eat lettuce, cabbage, etc. then there's something to think about. Much is coming from Mexico and you do know the fertilizer of preference there? If you don't know, Mexican citizens are pitching a bitch about Mexico City installing sewage processing plants there. There goes their free fertilizer frown

The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.

Spam and canned corn beef were two of the major foods camp tenders hauled out to sheep herders. I ate it twice a day for months on end. I'd like to think I became quite a spam gourmand, as I fixed it in more ways then I care to remember. Having said that it was far better then any jackrabbit.

Sounds to me like the view of Spam is directly correlated to one's circumstances.

I worked with a guy from the Philippines that loved the stuff. He claimed that all Philippinos love SPAM.

I can take it or leave it. My dad used to be fond of frying it up for a lunch while camping. Not too bad that way...

Haven't had any SPAM for a while, usually its viennee wienies and potted meat at camp, along with kipper snacks and sardines. But some SPAM in Romen noodles with some thin sliced cabbage and sriracha is good eats.

I like a spam sandwich on toasted bread with tomatoes, mayonnaise, & mustard. Many years ago my standard hunting & fishing meals were mustard sardines, potted meat & crackers, Vienna sausages, & spam & crackers. if some method of warming food was available beans & franks were considered gourmet dining. After these treats a large roll of toilet paper was always handy.
On the topic of cancer causing foods almost everything we eat is reported some where to cause cancer.

Sliced cold, on white bread with butter and mustard.

Or cubed and scrambled with eggs.

Potted dog! Spread thick on a Ritz cracker, topped with a small slice of hoop cheese and wedge of jalapeno. Nuke it for about 10 seconds. Its what we serve for hors d'oeuvre at the camp when playing poker.
