That is a good idea, I've been using squares of paper towel but your way recycles something that would just get thrown out after one use.

Wipe down all of your powder handling equipment (scale pan, funnel, inside of measure, etc) with a dryer sheet. They are antistatic--and the residue left behind makes the powder stop sticking.

The World's Finest Trimmer.

Trim 700 cases in an hour and use the standard trimmer lathe for a paper weight.

Even better cordless so you don't catch the chair castors on the cord.

I find lots of interesting items for my reloading room at the dollar store. I use cheap plastic bowls to hold empty brass out of the tumbler, a second bowl to toss it into as I push the walnut shell out of each primer pocket, and then back into the first bowl as each case is primed.

This colander came from the dollar store and is perfect for separating the BB's out of moly plated bullets as small as 22 cal.

I also do not bother to stock "Special" pistol brass. Just seat the bullet to the same COAL as it would have in a special case and crimp over the cannalure. This practice also avoids the need to clean your revolver chambers before you switch back to magnum loads.

A Giruad trimmer should be your first purchase, with a cutter head for each caliber. I'd quit loading if I didn't have one.

I use copper coated lead BB's. I think the moly application is more uniform and tougher to wipe off than before I added the BB's to the mix. I had a box still in the ammo cabinet from when my son was little and shooting his Red Ryder. They cost me nothing and do not make the plating process any tougher.

Absolutely nothing to lose, and I think, a bit to be gained.

When lapping a set if rings, use a small dot of tape on each ring to mark the direction of it, also front or back. That way when they all of a sudden slip out of your fingers when cleaning them up you don't have to guess what direction they were lapped to.

Per a very good friend of mine,
If you use a digital caliper always keep extra batteries for it on hand. One never expects it to quit when loading late into the night and the stores are not open.

Good tip. Been there, done that, wouldn't want to do it again. grin

If your powder measure does not have a powder baffle, make one out of an aluminum cat food pop top lid. Made a difference with my set up.

If you have a hollow based powder trickler you can make it really stable. Mine is an RCBS and I drilled a few holes in the bottom portion and screwed some wood deck screws in there with the course thread and then the next time I cast bullets I ladled some lead in the base of the trimmer around those screw threads sticking into the bottom of the trickler. The coarse threads gave the lead something to hold on to and now my trickler has almost 0% chance of tipping over and it doesn't slide around as much. If you were not a cast bullet maker you could probably just add some ballast (nuts/bolts) to the bottom half of the trickler and accomplish the same thing
