My wife and I and a buddy are doing a drop camp caribou hunt in Sept. We are looking at food options Mt House etc. I noticed a 60 meal bucket of food from Wise weighs 12 lbs and seems to be a lot of food. My question is has anybody ever just grab a bucket of Wise food and used it for a hunt and how did it work out.

I bought a sample or two to try. I suppose they'd keep you alive if the sodium content didn't kill you first. Wasn't all that taken with the taste.

I also tried Wise to see what it's like. You have to eat twice as much to get a belly full so it comes out more expensive than the more expensive stuff. Most of it's vegetarian although I was told that they do have a very few meat meals. I think it's designed for emergency food where you're hiding in the basement for 6 months and don't need the calories. A hiker needs more.
Recently Sportsmans Warehouse started carrying Backpackers Pantry. I haven't tried it yet but I will.
