Getting into waterfowling and thinking about using my older benelli montefeltro. Benelli doesn't offer a plastic stock set for it so I am looking for suggestions of sleeves or camo wrap I could use to protect it from dings.

Can any one suggest a tape or wrap that doesn't soak up water or leave sticky goo on the stock?

McNett brand of self-adhesive tape comes in a variety of camo patterns. It only sticks to itself and leaves NO residue on your gun. That said, it is rather thick and overlapping runs might obscure bead sights. The tape is also reusable over and over. Good luck.

Thanks for the response. I saw that stuff at cabelas and read the reviews. The reviews are a bit hillarious that people will completly wrap a pump shotgun to realize it won't work all taped up...

In 40 years of waterfowling I've never felt the urge to camouflage a gun, and I've killed probably more than my share of birds. Sometimes I think we take this camo thing too far. Just my opinion. smile

The camoflague is secondary, its about wrapping the wood on my expensive benelli shotgun to save it from boat dings. Its an older montefeltro that benelli doesn't support with replacement stocks and I want to pass on a well worn, but pretty wooded shotgun to my nephew!
