Tac, A pal who runs two 300 win mags has loaded up some 110 grain V-Max's and has had good success on pest species here down under - so I would dare say they would be the biz on deer too.
I had thought on getting him to load up some 110 gr TTSX for me to use in my 300 but i will try the 110 gr Vmax's first in my gun and go from there.

I have used them in my 30-06 with good results on whitetail. Then again most bullets I have used in it have worked well.

Are you going to try the 110vmax on deer ? ----------------------------------------------------------
I'd venture to say you wouldn't go wrong with the 110ttsx , should shoot like a lazer and and the high velocity should make them 'work' well.
Check out the loads for the 308 with these bullets on Barnes site , 3500+ fps.
I ordered a box of 130ttsx's and midsouth sent 130tsx = buttmonkies. The talk of crimping the 110gr scared me or something at the time. Good luck

I runt the 130 in my .308 with great results. Have been thinking of dropping back to the 110 also.

Can't wait for the 90 grain
Anybody else using the old standbys, 150, 165, 180?
Hope I'm not old school already?

Little and fast copper plugs really impress deer sized critters. I'd take 110gr TTSX on deer at normal ranges over a 180gr anything.

Got it. Thanks.
But isn't the length quickly getting close to the diameter?

I have a Sako A7 in 300 WM - its a dandy little rifle but very light - and quite a handful with 180 grain anythings. Even with a Vais micro brake fitted, the 180's still poke... But for the deer I hunt I would have to concur with Steelhead...110 TTSX's should be just great..which has me thinking maybe the 130 gr TTSX would be the perfect all round load for everything........

110g TTSX, H4895, .300 Savage here. Used this combeo past two deer seasons. Little recoil, good accuracy. No complaints.

But isn't the length quickly getting close to the diameter? No Here is a 130gr TTSX with a 150gr Hornady and 150gr Winchester. The 110gr TTSX is just about the same length as the 150gr Hornady

Steelhead is the one that enlightened me on the 130 gr. TTSX in a 308 at a little over 3000fps. I was just thinking about expanding my culture. Besides, I can't afford a 243 at the moment. I'll be starting with TAC.

I'll be starting with TAC. Wonder what the velocity would be with the 110's? Any idea of the recommended expansion velocity? Just wondering if this would be a good choice for low recoil loaded down a bit.

I used the 130 ttsx in my 308 and my 06 with great success this past year. I don't see a need for a larger bullet ever again in my mind.

Been loading the 110ttsx in my buddies 06. 3425 fps is doable in his gun w/barnes recommended max load of varget. Accuracy is easy 3/4" at 100. He's only shot one deer....a spike buck on the run at about 100 yds. Bullet went through both shoulders. He normally butchers his own deer but it was a warm season and he took it to the processor. When he picked up his meat there was a note saying both front shoulders had been destroyed. He still wants to run the bullet cause he just plain seems to love speed. I'm not convinced there is any reason or benefit to running this combo but since he likes it so much I'll keep him loaded and hope the next time he can pick a better placement.
