Well I guess I stepped in it again,I saw a set of Savage brand rings on Gunbroker. These are the old style with two slot head screws in the top. I wanted to ask the experts what kind of mounts these little bast##rdos fit. They are too small for Weaver mounts, any help is appreciated. These are the kind you see in the early 60s ads. thanks in advance!

IIRC, the 1960s vintage Savage branded rings and bases are rebranded Lyman Tru-Locks.
If you need the Lyman part numbers and you don't have a old Shooters' Bible or Lyman catalog around, I have both and having cleaned the gun room out, can actually get to them.

You're correct in that they're Lymans. 12 and 36 if I remember correctly but I'm in the house and the bases are out in the gun room. I'll check them out later after I get up.

As Skidrow said. I put on a set and found they sit a little higher than Weaver and Redfield/Leupold mounts. But it is cool having Savage branded rings. Now only if Savage made a decent scope???
