I ordered a Forbes 24B today in 6.5X55 and I have not decided on a color for the stock, they said I could call back tomorrow and give them the stock color. I was just going to go with the standard Charcoal but then I thought maybe someone on here might have some of the Camo options that I could take a look at.

So you guys that own the Forbes rifles please post up some pictures and let me know how you like the gun. I have heard all positive so far and I am looking forward to getting my sweet Swede in a few (6) months.

Thanks in advance and even if you have he charcoal, green or desert tan post up pics of them please.

If you go green, you can easily make it old school with a couple cans of spray paint..If it's Mel-inspired, it oughta be Mel-inspired. grin

The 6.5x55 is a great cartridge, and the 24B is a great platform for it. I struggled between ordering that and a 25-06 for my next Forbes; the 25-06 won out grin.

Here is a 24B in Coyote Brown, next to it's older brother, a Colt Light Rifle.

thanks for the post shortactionsmoker.

Your excellent photography skills made my decision easy.

It's gonna be a greenie stock, that gun looks fantastic.

I am still up in the air on the scope selection. This will predominately be a whitetail / goat / mulie rig. For around here a fixed 6x would prolly suffice, I hunted last year in Nebraska and used my 264 win mag with a 2-12x42 VX6 on it and I would not want less than 10 or 12 out there. Hunting Mulies in Montana the next two years and while I have several rifle choices I may want to bring this rig. My last mule deer hunt in Wyoming I used my Cooper 280AI with a 3.5-18 Z5 on it and the shot was 275 yards, longer shots out off the Big Horns could have easily happened. Not sure how long a shot I might have in milk river area as I have never been there.

Its either going to get an FX2 6X fixed, a 2.5-8 VX3 or a 2-12 VX6. I will likely have them send me a 1" low and 30mm low set of rings in case I am not happy with whatever goes on and I want to change it. I have 6 mos to think about it as that is the lead time quoted.
