It's interesting to see how the horsepower has risen over time. I was looking at some older Road and Tracks (1976) and that was at the beginning of the decline in horse power (which probably reached a low ebb in the early 1980s). Now we routinely see horsepower in the 400 plus range (and with relatively decent fuel mileage). Some technology does have benefits. But at the same time, the raw horsepower and light weight of mid 1960s cars was something special. I wished I had kept my 1966 Shelby GT 350!
