Anyone with experience with this ranger? Price looks really good, but I know often you get what you pay for!! $350 with $100 rebate from Cabelas. 6x and 5-1300 yard capabilities... thanks. I guess there is also a G-Force DX which is newer. Experience with that one, either?

I have the original model G-Force and have no complaints. I'm not a rangefinder uber-user but I don't recall it not ranging where I thought it should. Before this one I had a used 1500 ARC and IMHO the G-Force has done better than the 1500. The lens on the 1500 was not in pristine condition when I bought it though so that may have altered its performance. I paid $300 for the G-Force through a pro deal when it came out so at $250 think it's a good deal. What does DX signify on the new model?

I've had two of the original models, the first started to give inconsistent readings and was exchanged.
The replacement is going strong, the circle for aiming is kinda big so it is difficult to range smaller targets at longer range, wish it had a different reticle.
I dislike how either the reticle or image is in focus, not both. This is an issue with most rangefinders though.
Works on deer sized targets consistently out to around 550yds at 650yds I get a reading about 25% of the time. Longest reading I've ever got was a neighbors chimney at about 1000yds.
If this one broke I would borrow one until a good deal on a Leica came along. You do get what you pay for but if you need one and $250 is your budget you are probably not going to find a better new unit at that price.
Plus you could always take them up on their bulletproof money back guarantee if you really didn't like it.
