Something to think about is going back the following year and bringing the previous years trophies back with you as extra checked luggage. As long as your not getting full body mounts. Most of the PG species horns "come off" for packing. Paperwork with USF&W is easy and can be done on-line.

I've been doing this way for the past 6 years, including CITES Appendix II (Mountain Zebra). The money saved just about covers the cost of one round-trip airline ticket.

Agree w this. I chased mountain zebras from top of one mountain to top of another for several days. Ended up finally getting a shot in thick nasty stuff that would give whitetails a fit. They were as wild and spooky as any animal I have hunted. I really enjoyed hunting them. Quite a challenge. Good luck. 163bc

My shipping cost from South Africa was about $1700.
That included
sable horns and cape
Gemsbuck " "
Waterbuck " "
Nyala " "
Impala " "
Impala horns and flat skin
Zebra flat skin

The costs to clear customs in Chicago and send them to a tannery was about $650.

These are from my July 2013 safari.

M3taco, PM sent. I am looking into what you said about bringing back my trophies on the plane next year when I return to the Eastern Cape. My outfitter told me to get more info from you on this as this would save his clients a ton of money and save time on his end with building shipping crates. Also, anyone else that has ever done this please give your comments. Thank You Kevin
