I saw a documentary on netflix called Happy People. Shows the life of a trapper/hunter/fisherman in the middle of nowhere. His skills with a hatchet are impressive. Lots of woods savy. Beware it has sub titles but its great if you can read at a good clip.

I've watched it several times, I really enjoy it. How about that dog following the snow machine all the way into town? Do I remember right, it was something like 100k's?

Just watched it a week ago, good show.

I've watched it a couple of times. Amazing the stamina of the trapper's dog.

Also interesting some of the traps he made to catch his fur bearers.

Yeah he ran all night! I apparently have never owned a good dog. I have watcheit about 4 times.

What about all the pike they catch! The old outboard on the one dudes boat looked to be madin the 50s or 60s.

Imagine that moment, cab driver in Kiev, police officer in Minsk, baker in Moscow... here we go... fur trapper in Siberia. Dress warm.

A true gem. I loved his skills w/ an ax, who knew you could make a pair of skis w/ an ax. I believe that his transport to Siberia may not have been voluntary. It made me feel a little humble as an "outdoorsman".

Humble indeed! after watching that dude I look at my skills with a hatchet and I'm thinking I probably look like a monkey with a pair of channel locks. I thought is was cool the way he split that tree with wooden wedges he made.

I see they have "High, Wild, and Free" available too. Great picture!

Ringworm, lawyer or politician? Holy Crap!!!! I guess I should get a little clearer in my language. The phugging commies shipped his young ass to Siberia. I will need a stiff drink tonight to get over this one. Have a good one yourself.

That was very good. The whole family just watched it.

It looked like the good life until the mosquitoes.

Laughed my azz off a few times. The guy hurling the puppy up into the river bank, the drunk blaming the Russian vodka and the singing politician to name a few.
Exactly opposite emotion when he's telling the story of the bear killing his two dogs.
