Scott,

I grew up in he area that aalf resides in. Freeport, IL to be exact. Tillamook won't hold a candle, and I've had both.

Real cheddar melts in your mouth. laugh

Tillamook, one step above Velveta,

When it comes to Cheese, Brats and Beer,

The rest of you amateurs need to just step aside.

I well remember one weekend when my late wife and I bought a bag of cheese curds and a stick of pepperoni from the Tillamook Creamery and then picked a great bunch of blackberries on the flats along with as many black rasberries that all grow wild there. Then took them back to the neat A frame we had rented right out on the very end and highest point on Cape Meares. Along with some crackers and coffee this was an absolute feast. The view was also spectacular. All in all probably one of the finest weekends I have ever had.

Some of the best cheese curds in the area - enjoyed by both Wisconsinites and Mudduckers - are produced just south of me in Ellsworth, WI..

IIRC, they sell several TONS of 'em every week..
