Like many here, I have a left hand Zastava Mauser which has a lumpy but functional walnut stock. I would like to put it into a classic pattern laminate stock. Boyd's make a nice stock with a left hand cheekpiece, but only seem to inlet it for right hand actions.
I have sent a request to Boyd's for a left hand inlet but no response yet.
Anyone have any good ideas on how or where to get one?

Buy a blank and a rasp???? This is the route I went for a couple rifles. A large rat tail file will do a good job on the bolt cut. Flat file or rasp for the square bolt release. A dremel tool if the safety is alongside the tang. If you start with one of the grey/black laminates, JB Weld comes reasonably close to matching color-wise when you fill in the original bolt cut.

I have asked Boyd's if they will sell me an uninletted stock, which would be preferable to doing a conversion.

I have a Richards for the Zastava 70. It's rudementery but better than the factory stock. It's no where near as nice as the Boyds stock IMO. No where near press fit or 95% finished

Mog
