This one looks decked out and Tacos retain their value well.
I'm at 220,000 miles on mine, runs like a champ.

That's what they go for in this area too. Yotas hold their value and I'm glad they do because I have the same truck but in silver.

last summer I sold my 2001 SR5 package 4x4 ext.cab v6 101,000 miles. It had a new fram put in a yer before that under a recall. I listed it for 7500 and sold it same day. I also had over 30 more calls wanting it. Even had a GI call me from afganastan. They are the only truck I know that holds value like that.

That's more than fair for a Tacoma with 140k on it.

I RUN A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN UPSTATE NY AND FRONTIER CREW CABS HOLD THERE VALUE AS WELL AS TACOMAS IN THIS AREA, BUT IF I LISTED A 2002 IN MY MARKET FOR 12000 WITH A 141000 MILES I WOULD BE LAUGHED OUT OF TOWN. I HAVE A 2011 CREW CAB FRONTIER 4X4 WITH 25000 MILES THAT IS LIKE NEW WITH NEW TIRES AND HAVE IT LISTED FOR $19999.....8000 FOR 9 YEARS AND 115000 MILES....HMMMMM. I GUESS THAT TRUCK FITS A NITCH IN YOUR AREAS FOR THAT 10000 TO 12000 TRUCK THAT DOES NOT EXIST ON DEALERS LOTS. GOOD LUCK TO YOUR BUDDY WITH THE SALE, THE GREAT THING ABOUT A RETAILABLE PRODUCT IS IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT I THINK IT IS WORTH, IT IS WORTH WHAT SOMEONE IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT.

Honestly,
I think he's priced fairly. Wish he was closer.

I have a 2001 Tacoma 4x4 extended cab that has 167,500 miles on it. I was thinking about trading it in, but now it is just a game to me to see how far I can actually drive it before I "have" to get a new one.

A friend of mine in TN sold his with close to 400k on it. He said he wished he kept it as it drove just fine.

The only thing I do is change the Mobil 1 0w-30 every 7,500 miles, put in a new NAPA oil filter and change the differentials w/ Amsoil every 50,000.

I guess if I had to sell it now, I would put it in Craigslist for about $11,000 and see what happened.

BUMP FOR A NICE TRUCK!!!

I sure hope I just didnt jinx myself....wheres some wood??? lol

I will be willing to bet he gets darn close to asking price. And as far as the Nissan trucks go not even comparable.

I wouldn't sell my 2002 Tundra for 12,000. Plus one on the Nissan Truck not being in the same class as the Tundra

I've got a 2003 Taco xtra cab, step side with 80K miles.....sure get a lot of folks asking if I want to sell.....$12,000 would be no problem here.....Nissans don't bring the value here.

The 2001 would bring $14K here in Western NC, but I can't agree with the opinions on the Nissan trucks (have you ever owned one?). I think they are as tough and dependable as a Toyota and less $. I have 4 Nissan's in the yard now and they just keep going ! Good luck with the Tacoma sell for your buddy.

I drive the truck he is looking for and drive it pretty hard.

It's a great truck -
