My wife and I have tried several different holsters and carry methods for her and have decided on a fanny pack for most if not all of her needs.
Needing recomendations for a Good SMALL fanny pack that opens quickly and doesnt scream GUN FANNY PACK.
She has a Glock 26 so it will have to either have an internal holster to cover the trigger or I can integrate a Pocket holster into it.
She May or may not carry her cigarette case and a little cash ,CC etc if it has a small seperate enclosure.

I think that by now, all fanny packs scream GUN! due to the many, many of these sold as CCW solutions. Add to this how very slow a fanny pack system is for gun retrieval and I would suggest that another option be considered. There are some good books out there on women carrying firearms, and some women only shooting clubs and training programs now.

Short version: I cannot reccomend any longer than any person seriously consider a fanny pack carry.

I have a couple of medium uncle mikes "gun runners" (I think), one grey and one black, as well as a custom job. I don't use them any more.

PM me a phone number and I will send some pics. They have been sitting in a box of gear for years, since I carry with regular belt rigs.

Not trying to be a Horses arse but I know what we are going to get and dont need recomendations on another carry method or books or clubs.
We have already reviewed HER needs .
I would disagree with you about ALL fannie packs screaming gun.
Regardless I need recomendations for a fannie pack as per the Question.
Preferably from those that use them .

Thanks anyway

I really like my Voodoo 'Tactical'. Coyote 'tactical' tan with 'tactical' molle loops everywhere...it is 'tacticool' but I don't care. It has a good holster built in and is very rugged. I use it when fishing or hiking in the woods, or occasionally when jogging. It holds a small fishing kit, energy bar, wallet and keys, flashlight, cell phone, etc. A flashlight can clip on one of the loops, and my bear spray slips over the belt.

Sure it looks like a gun bag to gun people. I don't care. I use it when I don't really mind if a gun guy makes it. It hides the gun from the sheeple in the outdoors recreating with me, and that's all that matters. Wade fishing in water sandals and swim trunks makes it tough to belt carry sometimes. Besides, everyone is packing a pack or bag or some sorts in the woods. I also don't really care if it is a touch slower that belt carry.

I don't use it much for EDC outside of the woods, and it is large and may not fit a woman's style sensibilities.

Sounds like you're set.

I'm pretty sure I use this one for my P12 or Glock 29. They fit without a lot of extra room so they don't bounce around, about 9"x6". Cheap, pretty sturdy, easy open with the zips and pull tabs on the corners. I like the leather, feels like its padded better than a cheap nylon ones. Four zip pockets hold most things I need for a short hike.

For whatever it's worth, I use a Mountain Smith Cairn II fanny pack on my workout hikes. It's a large fanny pack with excellent, tough zippers and a wide belt with not one, but two delta straps for heavier loads.
It carries not only my SIG 220, but a bottle of water, extra clothing, a power bar, and my reading glasses, etc.
The only thing awkward with it is getting to the gun. One needs to practice that, make sure the gun is placed correctly in the pack and make sure the zippers are easy to reach. But it can be done. I wouldn't use it if I wasn't confident I could use it effectively.
My suggestion is have her try on some found in back packing stores, have her decide what she needs and can use. E

Most of the packs designed with guns in mind have quick access without using the zippers at all, and have hard plastic inserts to keep the gun oriented properly.

I've seen several where all you do is pull a strap that hangs down to expose the gun instantly:

Thanks to ALL who replied.
I just got through ordering this, http://www.amazon.com/BLACKHAWK-Bel...amp;keywords=Blackhawk+concealment+pouch

It is small and I like the fact it doesn,t have huge wings on the ends that look like, well, a gun fanny pack instead of just a small regular fanny pack . I ordered the mini for her.
I also ordered some 1 inch webbing and quick detach buckles so I can make a belt to go through the loops so she can wear this as a fanny Pack OR thread it onto her Pants IF she is wearing pants with belt loops and wants to.

Now I will find a few iron on or sew on patches to detract from the all black pouch, something like a smiley face or a worlds greatest Grandma, butterfly etc.

Thanks again EVERYONE.

It's open carry for those states that don't allow open carry.

Lots of folks who are diabetic carry their supplies in fanny packs. Just sayin'...

bcraig, at a range in Florida was some old rascal firing a j frame fast, looking over the sights at 7 yards, I wound up talking to him and asked about the fanny pack he was wearing. He told me no one would look at an old redneck like him and believe there was anything else but a gun in there. Which, he said, was just what he wanted. When I used to bicycle down a rural road nearby it seemed that every second truck that passed was trying to see how close he could get without actually hitting me. I started carrying a 357 in a grey, very visible fanny pack worn on the left side. The shockwaves from passing trucks just stopped. I don't open carry, don't fanny pack carry anymore, but it has its particular attributes as a method.

Good choice. I use one to carry my LCP or G26 sometimes.

Love to get a report once you have a chance to check it out up close and see if it's what you though you were getting. If I understood correctly it has zippers for keys, cash and such, but the gun hides behind a velcro part. I like that. Was checked in Disneyland some years ago and I unzipped all the compartments but didn't ask about the velcro part that comes down and had a holster holding a gun in it.
