I have a bunch of 75gr hollow point bullets loaded up for my 6mm Remington. I know they're great on rock chucks and completely disintegrate milk jugs full of water, but I'm curious about effectiveness on coyotes?

If you re worried about lethality, don't. That bullet in 6mm will drop them like a rock. If you are worried about having a nice, pretty, saleable coyote hide, pick a different caliber.

It was lethality I was interested in, I wanted to make sure it wouldn't just fragment on a shoulder or something. Thanks!

We've used them on antelope and coyotes before. I believe we called the bullet hole a "window". When hit properly noting went anywhere.

The 6mm Rem with 75 gr HP will walk on all the 22 cal's went killing Coyotes . I just don't see how you could do better .
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Thanks for the feedback. I've killed deer with my 6mm, but it was with 100gr partitions, I'd never tried shooting anything bigger than a rock chuck with the hollow points. Now I just need to put them to use.

55g TNT out of .223-can you say fur damage? This happened because of the shot angle as my other kills with this bullet have not shown damage like this. So at any given time and shot angle with .223 or above this could happen.

Yep, I'd say that's effective. I had a couple of high school buddies who always teased me about my little 6mm, as they both had 30-06's, but the first mule deer I shot with the 6mm had an exit hole I could put my fist through. I didn't get teased as much after that.

I shot a groundhog with a Speer 75 once, and I could stick my fist thru the hole without getting my knuckles bloody. 75s are pretty good 6mm bullets, but rough on hides.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

Excellent varmint round.. and bullet.. They are cheap, accurate, and destructive. You will love it..

years ago, we had gun permits to hunt in Mexico. We killed a lot of predators down there. We were limited to 50 rounds of ammo per gun, two gun max. So, I took a 12ga 1100 3" and a varmint rifle of some kind. I traded off calibers on the gun permit from year to year to check out various loads.
One trip I took down 50 rounds of the Speer 75g HP(dubbed the fly'en trash can) loaded with a max load of IMR 4064 to 3500 fps out of my 6mm Rem. I had splashes on Shoulders, hip joints, and ribs.
We had ZERO splashes with the Sierra 75g HP which is a supurb coyote bullet with a max load of IMR 4064.
You may indeed want to try some Sierra 80g Blitz BT in your rifle with a Max load of 4064, they are the mack daddy of all the coyotes bullets that I have tried in as far as shots near and far with the loudest plop you have ever heard.
If you have a bunch of the Speer 75's already on hand, then just slow them down 300 fps and they should work fine on coyotes.
