I have a collection of old Herters decoys some from the 50's 60's and 70's. Some are styrafoam some are poly plastic. My question is would these decoys work as well as the cheaper ones now? How do you duck hunters think they would do if used today. The lower grade ones seem to have a lot more detail than my herters. I have a mix of divers and mallards. Not looking to sell just curious I haven't hunter ducks in 35 yrs but still keep the, around for the man cave and gargare.

They were the best of that period and are still very high quality. They'll work just fine......mine are 50 years old!

Thanks guys for the info. I knew they were top of the line in yrs past but it is amazing to me the detail you see in the cheapo's. Good luck hunting I might get back into duck hunting I got to get my male Can and Redhead for the mans room.....

If you decide that you don't want them, just shoot me a PM and I'll gladly take them off your hands.

Google "burlapping Herter's decoys".

The only real down fall to them I see is they don't ride well in rough waters. But they will surely work bringing in the ducks if you set them up right. Sometimes a little calling can go a long ways too.
