I've got a .22LR Ruger MK III Target pistol that I'm having a bit of a problem with. I can't get the mainspring to come out more than 3/8" and the bolt won't come all the way back. I've read enough to know that this means my hammer is in the way, and I've tried the one method I've found to free it - striking the muzzle down on a piece of wood with the magazine fully installed and the trigger pulled back. It ain't workin'. Any other suggestions? Or am I doing it wrong? Thanks!
