In the interest of finding a source and a model of 32mm binocular thats "best" all around for others to buy what do you know? The Leupold 7-12X 32mm binoulars that I got seem to be my favorites. They are no longer sold. Link

No, they aren't. But the much cheaper 6X32 Katmai is still available. E

I brought all of my binoculars to the range today and scanned the range and hill beyond to 400 yds. The switch power 7-12X's won the day. They can see what is it when lesser powers cannot. The Bushnell zoom's can see what is it but their field of view is much too small for scanning. With binocular use a magnification of 7X or so is just fine most of the time until you can't tell what it is. The neat little 32mm 7X to 12 X switch power binos can. The problem is that we can't find any new ones for sale!
All guns should be locked up when not in use!

Don,
For a guy who lives in Connecticut and who hunts in Vermont there must be a huge degree of frustration, to the point of asking yourself why you even bother to spend the $$ and expend the effort of leaving home.
That said, you are truly something, just not sure what that something is. It seems to me that you are to 24-HCF what Bryce M. Towsley is to the gun writing trade.

Jeff, Did you get outside this week? We finally got a warmer day last Tuesday and I shot a few centerfires then. It was so cold and windy the other day that all I could stand was testing the binoculars.

Yes, despite the Yo-Yo nature of our weather. Highs in the 70s one day with below freezing highs the next day. Makes it hard to plan.
Was at the range on a warm day to play with the 6.5 Creedmoor, a couple of .17HM2, and a couple of .22s.

They are not still in production probably because most users didn't find the 12X setting nearly as good as it can be. In contrast, even though they are alot more expensive, the Leica 8+12X Duovids are still for sale. E

Nothing special about switch powers, pretty average glass and no surprise they never sold, horrible concept in a 32.

I'm sure I'll take a beating for even suggesting them but I love my votex viper R/T 8x28's. Paid $179. New in box. Absolutely love them for the money.

I have a set of the Vortex 8X28 vipers that are nice, but just received a set of the Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32's - wow they are in a different league.
