First attempt at painting and very happy with the results. Ended up stripping this HS XP-100 stock down and filling in some gouges. Wish I had taken some before pics, but it wasn't pretty. Filled the imperfections, followed by sand-able primer. Krylon textured, black & silver webbing with a couple coats of clear coat. Now if my barreled action was here and not 200 miles away in my other home I'd be happy.

Good job. Application of the webbing is the most difficult part. I always seem to get too much and have to back up a few steps to try it again.

Webbing was tough, stuff does have a tendency to gob. First time I've ever used it, but practiced a few times on card board and started the spray about two feet before the stock.

Good looking job
IMO it's best to go down below the factory paint then file radius and fill.
The last Montana stock I did I took all the way down to the gel coat before I laid te paint

Your right. For you that is good looks like crap Too much tan, too much olive, too much black webbing, too much silver webbing, too much texture. Did i forget anything? kidding- Good job now get it perfected so I can send my stuff to you so you can paint it for free. By the way. How did the texture turn out? Is the texture like a montana stock (new one)?

I'm happy enough with the feel of it. If you've got something you want me to try, let me know.
