One of my neighbors asks me to shoot the Ground Squirrels around his ranch house and out of his yard and garden each year.
He and his wife are still "wintering" in Arizona and I headed over yesterday to try and get a head start on keeping these Varmints down to a minimum.
I usually don't Hunt the Gophers this early but, to try and solve their problems I get after them as soon as they come out each spring.
I shot about 15 or so but the highlight of the afternoon was finding three shed horns on the slopes below their house!
Two were a matched set of Whitetail horns (4x4) and the third was a two point Mulie shed.
90% of the Deer on their place are Mulies so I was surprised at the nifty 125 class Whitetail sheds glaring back at me in the sight picture of my binoculars!
They were about 300 yards down a sloping hill from their drive and I flew down the hill before anyone else would see them - no chance of that but I sped down after them anyway.
Saw a Fox on their place but they don't want them shot and he was well faded anyway.
Supposed to get to 54 degrees here tomorrow - come on spring!

Sounds like a fun day.

VarmintGuy, we have had some sunny days lately in the northwest part of the state, but the snow is still piled in the yard. I am hoping to get over to the East Side in the next few weeks to warm up a few barrels. Save a few for me.

Not coming up in NE Oregon yet from what I hear. I have a few friends and former clients that live there whom I call for intel. I am anxious to get after them as well!
