That's a good looking rifle. It'll look even better laying across a dead deer next fall! A G is on my want list, but I haven't been able to find the right one yet.

I remember that one. smile At the Hog Hunt I had mine leaning on the lodge porch, and Gunner does a double take, and brings his out. They are almost identical to each other, down to the receiver sight. That one has more finish remaining on the stock. Mine is s/n 304XXX.

It also shoots extremely well. smile

I took a nice buck and doe last year with the same gun but with a stith mount and scope. The 300S is a great round. Very similar to the 7x57 in recoil and just about everything else. Killed a pig as well. Everything was a bang flop.

Range results with Gunner's load of 180gr Speer Hot Cores and 40gr Varget @2400 fps. Took me a few to dial in and screwing on the Aperture insert helped as well.

Looks good Jorge

Gunner is such an enabler. Suspect he's on multiple states lists as a known tracker in gun porn. grin See what he did to me last year! The man is dangerous! Stop him before he sells again!

As an aside, I learned a lesson with this 1951 F. I cleaned it last Oct including cleaning the bore with Wipe Out. I clearly got some down into the action and it turned the brass magazine follower into a green slimy mess including locking it up so badly that Gunner and I had to use a spoon to break it loose and lube it. It's off at the smith getting cleaned up as I took it apart down to removing the bolt and realized I was in over my head so put it back together.

Look forward to banging some steel pigs with these Jorge.

Thank you Pugs & Gunner? smile I simply love this rifle and as I've mentioned before, with geezerness coming on, I see myself turning more and more into "retro" rifles. Right now my three "alert" rifles for Pigs (as in hey let's go!) are my 71, 99 and 1895...

Which brass and primers were used in those loads?
