Mule Deer,

I am in the process of having a 330 Dakota built and there is little handloading data available. On loaddata.com there is some older Barnes #3 data with H4831 and some Nosler data using H4831sc. I will be using the Berger 250 Elite Hunter and my question to you is, is H4831 the optimum powder for this case? I prefer to stay with "H" extreme powders or any known temp stable powder. Thanks!!

I've never loaded the .330 Dakota, but from looking at the #3 Barnes and #6 Nosler manuals it looks like H4831 would be the top choice among the Extremes.

I doubt you could get enough H1000 in the case to get as much velocity as with H4841. Or at least I found that true with the .340 Weatherby, which has a little more powder capacity than the Dakota.
