Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't waste money on a Wetherby Ultra Light.. Would just have put together another custom Rem. With mcmillan stock, Pac-Nor barrel-
Just completed my 25-284 on a Rem. 600 action - This is the Only way to go for a gun that fits-feels Great to YOU.
I finally found my Ultamet rifle! The guys on this board were right! ( I think this may be habit-forming!)
Now that I have one custom, am thinking one in each of my favorite cals. would be nice!...Hoooboy!!!!!
Every gun nut should have at least one custom rifle built to HIS SPECS.!

Logansdad: Just a little background first, I am 39 yrs old and have been shooting and collecting since i was 14. As i look at my collection, I am disgusted at the amount i have acquired in the name of something better or different. I have over 30 rifles with a few pricey custom jobs in the mix covering everything from 22 LR to 35 Whelen Improved to 45-70. So what do i actually use to hunt deer and such? Lately it has been with 308, 7-08, 270, 30-06 and 35 Whelen Imp. I really feel it is time to get rid of most of this stuff and concentrate on what really works, Familarity with a chosen few! I have rifles that i haven't even shot yet! I need to get back to a core group of calibers and think that the 22LR 223 270 or 30-06 and a 338 or 35 should about cover it. Throw in a 12 gauge for birds and we should have it licked. I fully admit that i am addicted to this stuff and will be having a clearance sale shortly when i have shot and sorted through to see what stays and what goes. You guys will be the first to know before i post on AA or GB auction sites. I feel better already. Swede96.

Used to cry a lot about the Sakos, Win 52 sporter I traded for a Sako, and the many pre 64s I've give away BUT, figured out there is a deal waiting for me at the next gun show and they never end. Deals are everywhere if you just look, buying or selling!! The past is gone, it was fun at the time, today I deal, tomorrow is better deals. Just like breathing air,(oxygen), when you exhale forget it, look for the next breath of fresh air.-- no

Shouldn't have:

(1). Sold the Win 52 that my dad helped me buy when I was a pre-teen. (First rifle. Sold it to buy a Marlin single shot. Hopefully I have gotten over being that STUPID.)

(2). Gotten rid of all of those 30-'06s.

Should have:

(1). Bought that beautiful pre-'64 Model 70 .300 H&H two years ago when it was offered to me for $600.

(2). Decided that a man needs only so many .375 mags.

Not being a fanatic, I am quite pleased to say that I have few regrets. Maybe I shoulda found a way to keep the Win Mod 70 in .270, but it wasn't a pre-64 or anything, so I can go out and get another one if I miss it too bad.
