Jeb Bush is the McCain/Romney train coming back around. I'll vote for him if that's the only choice Mr.Rove gives me.

Oh, so you do allow the media to integrate into your candidate and vote processing.

No need for the media anymore on the Bush topic, it is already in the American subconscious, like a tattoo.

It ain't. The Clinton name carries a "cool" factor among the media, hollywood, and Washington elite. Those groups have a lot of influence on the thinking of your average voter... Bush, by name alone, starts at a serious deficit... I agree, just replying to Bob.

Oh yeah, to ignore their influence on Joe Blow and Valerie Voter, would not be smart.
They seem to be able to convince people of things that aren't so, like voting for a moderate Republican is the only hope that the GOP has of victory...
A lot seem to fall for it, and we continue to lose...

Wish that name were already in the American subconscious in a negative way, but the PR machine has done it's job to do completely the opposite. Fadish things seem to matter to many. Clintons, like the Obama's were, are a fad. Vote for Hillary, all the cool kids are doing it...

A lot seem to fall for it, and we continue to lose... If only everybody got that. Why is it so hard for people to realize that the Office of the POTUS can't be won without a candidate that excites the political base (Conservatives)? Fewer, and fewer, Republicans vote each cycle when squishy moderates from liberal States are the only choice. Maybe it will help if we run one named Bush?

Reagan was hated by the GOP establishment but popular with the Conservative base.
What kind of victory did he see? Landslides...
I think that the likes of Rand and Cruz could do this. Even in the face of the media onslaught.
Rand stands a better chance IMO, because the fact that Cruz was born in Canada will be the mantra of the media and it will do damage in spite of the facts of legal electibility.

Look at how much Obama and his gang have thrown the Bush name around in a negative light and if people think Obama is bad, what are they going to think about the Bush name?
You know the Dems will go all out if Jeb is the GOP nominee, just because his last name is Bush. You will see political ads focused squarely on his last name alone and it will work.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

The name won't help, but it's his moderate policies that would ensure that he didn't get the votes.

I won't vote for a moderate simply because the talking heads and bias pollsters say that they are "the only one that can win"
They like to point out how the 3-4 million Conservative voters stayed home, but even with that added to the numbers, we still would have lost.
Whoever can articulate the conservative platform the best is the most electable, imo.
Bob is right in many ways though. Right now, we shouldn't even be talking 2016. We have to get through 2014. The Senate has to be won, and the house has to be shored up...

Fewer, and fewer, Republicans vote each cycle when squishy moderates from liberal States are the only choice. Maybe it will help if we run one named Bush? I'm trying to think of the last time a Republican candidate - any candidate - said he wasn't part of the conservative political base. I'm pretty sure that if you were to ask both Karl Rove and Chris Christie, each would say that he's a member of the conservative political base and the other guy isn't. In fact, this whole conservative political base idea is pretty squishy and hard to get a hold of, when everybody who is not a Democrat is claiming membership in the conservative political base. But the one thing I do know absolutely about the conservative political base? Nobody appointed Hawkeye to say who's in it. Beyond that, it's all pretty much open to endless argument and finger-pointing.

It looks like America may Drag Mr. Bush into the political arena. If he does run, can he beat Hillary? Nope. There won't be another bush in the WH anytime soon. Count on 8 more socialist years if he's the choosen one. We might very well get 8 more socialist years anyway if Hilarity runs.. The damn dems will fall all over themselves ensuring she wins - by hook or by crook..

Suggests how fearful Woolley (whoever the F she is) is of Bush running.
As of now, he's a polling front runner. If you like Rand Paul, then you should also like Bush. Rand votes virtually lockstep with Bush's policies, save for foreign affairs.
Why should the Bush namesake be tainted any more than the Clinton namesake?
MSM loves Clintons. MSM hates Bush, any Bush. "Taint" in the cards that Jeb would win.

Jeb is the smart brother and as corrupt as they come. It would be interesting to see him try but I don't think it is in the cards. For starters he would be the first president to get divorced in office. His wife is dead set against it.
