The closest public range to me is under pressure from some members of the community to curtail use and hrs because of noise. Its located in a large park operated and owned by the East Bay Regional Park District.
Anti gunners from outside have posted against renewing the lease so we would like to get as many post in favor of keeping the club open as possible. Thank you for your help.

If the club management is depending on moveon.org to figure out the future of the club, you're hosed already.

Never thought I would see the day when you could not shoot. We have almost whole states now where you can not shoot. I guess that is why you get old and die (can not live in the changing world).

Encroachment and out of state transplants are the bane of gun clubs everywhere..

Good luck to you - our club was litigated out of existence about 6-7 years ago....all due to libbie transplant neighbors.. Only good thing about it is, the main a-hole who started it is now DEAD. Plus, he left behind a ton of legal bills that nearly broke the rest of the bastids.. Local church got involved - all due to the 'money' from the main a-hole.. Member left the church due to their anti-gun club stance..

Hope they all rot in hell...

Have they built houses near there? It's been over 20 years since I've shot there, but it seemed to be a pretty remote location at the time. Nice range, would be a shame if they shut it down.

I shot there quite often when I was living in the area. It is a nice facility. Not uncommon to have deer blithely walk across the range, and have to call a ceasefire

I think I would also try to document that many police officers and law abiding citizens use the facility, and fight.

But it is in a very liberal oppressive part of the country.

You really don't get it, do you? The "problem" is everywhere. And "problems" like this usually don't get better.

Yes, housing has moved closer and others claim gunfire interferes with their enjoyment of the park. Motorcycles scream through the park every weekend yet no complaints.

You might want to rethink that, your range could be next.

Thanks for the link, I signed it. I go there. Some mornings it gets foggy, with mists floating through, really moody and beautiful.

Because of it's noise? Because you can see the Oakland Intl Airport from the road to the range but jet airliners don't make noise? Or is it the noise of gunfire that bothers some members of the community? I suggest they close down Oakland with all it's late night gunfire and leave our range alone.

Many of our ranges In Washington state are under the same pressure. They closed down the Kitsap rifle and revolver club. They reopened it I think after a long coart battle.. Some of these ranges hav been there 80plus years..
