2007 Durango. 168000 miles and it does not burn or leak oil and is the easiest starting vehicle I have ever owned even at temps down to -35 or so. Drives great and rides good but I have had to replace all spark plugs, shock absorbers and brake rotors and pads. It has the 4.7 engine and it is almost impossible to get over 20 mpg unless I'm on a long haul and keep it under 75. Constant eighty cuts 'er down to 18.5 to 19 easily. But what I loose in mpg, I make up for in oil changes. I use 5-20 Mobil 1 and change it once a year whether or not it needs it. Probably doesn't. So that's my gripe for the day.

Electrical nightmare... Power steering, lights, side mirrors, wipers, brakes gone at 22,000K.

Weird rear end noises on ocassion.

Traded it for new Chevrolet Z-71.

My very first car--a 1958 Mercury station wagon with a huge V8, power steering, power brakes. The emergency brake was shot and "park" on the push-button automatic transmission didn't either, so carried a brick painted "brake" and put that under one tire if forced to park on any sort of slope. It got 4-5 mpg but gas was only 27 cents a gallon so charged each my friends a quarter if they wanted a ride.

But it only cost $15, and hade room in back for a small mattress (handy on weekends), and I sold it a few months later for $25. Not a bad deal!

69 Plymouth Barracuda, car was great and never had a problem. Me on the other hand got in trouble with the fold down rear seat at the drive in - cost me 18 years of payments.

Not sure about the worst but the best is the 1999 Z-71 I've been driving for 14 years 200K+. When I take her up to leave her at our property in Alaska I'll be getting another Silverado.

I suppose the worst was a tie between a Ford Tempo and an Eagle premier. Total [bleep].

Yeah those VW vans were the coolest. My uncle had one in the 70s and the thing was righteous.

My worst vehicle was a '98 Dodge Ram. Very schitty truck. Bad tranny, underpowered, lousy gas mileage, air conditioner kept failing,..it looked good though.

94 eagle vision. I bought it new and it was probably my biggest purchase mistake ever. I moved around a lot during my college years and wanted a bigger car that got decent mileage. Lots if rebates and discounts sucked me in. I don't think the air ever worked from day one. The whole system was replaced one piece at a time. It also had 3 transmissions by 70k miles. Coil pack, starter, cv joints, power seat, instrument cluster, oil leaks, tranny leaks all before I finally dumped it at 90k miles. I haven't owned anything mopar since.

lets start with the worst I have ever seen, 1980 chevy crew cab dually with 4 speed trans,my dad bought it new.
probably 6-8 clutches, 2 water pumps, the driveshaft once fell out on the road, the doors sagged because the hinge bushings were bad. 2 radiators, power steering pump, and the motor blew all this before 90k miles. I am also sure I am missing a very long list of stuff that I have forgotten. its a wonder anyone would buy GM products after owning some of the stuff they made in the 80's

worst personally for me, probably a 2000 or 01 ford winstar, total POS it got so bad toward the end I was afraid to drive it for fear something else would break.

honorably mention 2006 dodge ram diesel, 7 grand in out of pocket repairs before 95k miles. 3 sets of ball joints, every u joint replaced on the truck. rear main seal, ac compressor, park pawl in trans, radiator, I am sure I am missing something.

beyond that anything GM made in the 80's or 90's total chit,

'88 Jeep Wagoneer. Complete POS. The only thing that worked on it was the actual engine, and by engine I mean block, pistons, rods, crank, cam, lifters and valves. Everything bolted onto or around that engine either didn't work right or didn't work for long.

1981 Audi 5000 Turbo; car mag's loved it. Good looking, fun driving POS. Took it in for 15k tune up and front brake job and dealer handed me a bill for $800!! That's in 1981 dollars. Went through five turbochargers in 60k miles.

Same here. Biggest piece of garbage ever. We had it for 3 years, in the shop 26 times, and had 13,000 miles on it when Ford finally replaced it under the lemon law.

88 dodge raider/mitsubishi montero. wife HAD to have it and wouldn't listen to me when i said i thought i was a POS. well, within 10k miles the rearend and the front transaxle went. they said it wasn't properly lubed from the factory. she had it for about 3 years and the gauges would go whacky, the thing would just stall for no reason, the 4x4 made horrendous noises the few times we used it. traded it for a nissan p/u which was another POS.

my current 2005 dodge ram 1500 is shaping up to be a POS too. least i didn't buy it new and could get out of it without losing my ass too bad. might be doing that this year.

Had a couple of trucks that were POS's. Everything fell off them, stuff quit working, ill fitting, dust swirled through them like a tornado. Cheap, plastic feeling crap...

I gave up on them for over 25 years, and then got enticed by price a few years ago to try a couple of newer ones.

Same crap. Cheap, wouldn't hold up to what a truck is supposed to do, same stuff...different year.

My education spanned decades. But, it was worth it. Most life lessons are.

No more GM products for me. Ever.
