Weak wristing is often a cause of semi-automatic handgun failure to function.
so
Let's explore how much lack of resistance will cause it
and
Which pistols are more susceptible to it.

Materials needed:

(1) various pistols
(2) Ransom Rest
(3) sled for Ranson Rest to sit on
(4) table with smooth top for sled to sit on.
(5) variety of grits and lubricants to vary the resistance to movement of the sled.
(6) scale to measure sled movement resistance.
(7) Line to tie off sled to avoid it leaving the table during recoil.

Procedure:

(1) Use scale to test various grits and lubricants effect on the sled with rest atop it.
(2) Fire pistols with the range of grits and lubricants and observe failures
(3) Draw conclusions as to how strong you need to be to fire the pistol reliable
and
(4) Which pistols are less/more sensitive to limp wristing.

Seems like a waste of time and effort to me when we all know not to limp wrist ANY semi autos.

Any test results would be meaningless in real world usefulness

One shot, one kill........ It saves a lot of ammo!

Why don't you conduct the test, write it up, and sell the article.

Or just do as a beloved instructor once told me "Hold that thing like a cow tit, not the other kind!"

I'm thinking the Ransom is too heavy to give meaningful results. You would need something with almost no resistance and go from there.

I think, therefore I am, conservative.

Saw a 100kg bloke consistently have stoppages one day. Failed his shoot, every third shot was a stoppage.

The guy was a big hard bastard too. Was using a Glock 40 cal. Mod 22 iirc.

Afraid of the pistol it seemed, but never afraid of any man when working on the street. Figure that out.

Yeah God knows. Never seen it before or since and the guys running the range were a little flummoxed too.

He eventually got it sorted. Just a matter of coming to terms with taking control of the pistol.

Those pistols which are lighter and rely more upon spring resistance rather than the inertia of a heavy slide will be more sensitive.
Recoil operated shotguns can also be a bit sensitive to how they are held with lighter guns being more so. The Browning Auto-5 is fairly forgiving while the Franchi is a bit more sensitive. I attributed this to the lighter weight of the Franchi.
Of course, this only my theory and I'm sure many will disagree. GD
