Got a new Nightforce a couple of weeks ago and finally got it mounted on my home built Savage. Gun is a Savage model 10 in a H.S. Precision Tactical stock with 26 inch McGowan barrel and an accutrigger pulling 14 ounces. It is chambered in 243 Win. Was shooting paper and steel and shot this five shot group at 200 yard with 33 rounds already fired through the barrel in the previous hour.

I see you missed the center of the target, so I think you should send that rifle to me and I will take care of it for a season or two.

5.5 x 22 x 56 nxs with Mildot reticle. I wish it had mil adjustments but it is a keeper anyway I guess.

Yea guys that I show that to that dont shoot a lot dont grasp the idea of having a clean aiming point. You can see the light come on when I explain it to them though. I think I will keep it and see if I can get it to wander over to the bulls eye!

Congratulation on a good shooter. I bet you are a little more successful than I was with my first trip to the range with my new Ezxekiel 3-30X56 yesterday. I was all excited to replace my Bushnell 4200 4-16X40 on the .375-.416 Rem Mag with somehthing with a wider field of view: A 3-18X. When I heard about this new scope that weighs 15.4 ounces I ordered one. Then I figured I would trade out my Swarovski z5 5-25X52 (18.1 oz)on my .257SLR. Never the less, I installed it on my .375 to see if it could handle the recoil of 260 grainers leaving the bore at 3,100 feet per second.

I fired a group which was about 3" high and 3" right of where I wanted it to group. I moved six clicks down and six clicks left. It moved the equivalent of twelve clicks down and zero to the left. After putting in another six clicks left I fired another group. No change. Again I put in four clicks and I fired another group. No change. I had the power rings set on about 18X.

When I tried to turn it back to 3X it would not go past 12X. I called the guy at 2nd Amendment Guns and told him about it. He ordered another scope but wanted me to try something. He wanted me to allow him to put a wrench on the power ring. I figured go ahead, you ordered another one for me. Once it was past about 10X it turned easily again. But the elevation had a tight spot. No telling if the recoil messed it up or not.

Anyway I hope the next one is better than yours.

Ringman I don't want to be a pessimist but I wouldn't count on a Sightmark holding together on anything with that kind of recoil. Maybe you will get lucky though, as I have seen some scopes that shouldn't hold up go through things that would make a Schmidt and Bender gasp and keep right ticking.

I more or less expected the scope to break. I was hoping to get another that may be better in low light than this example.

When the new one gets here it is going on a very heavy .22-250. It weighs 12 pounds with its 17.9 ounce Sightron 6-24X42. It will weigh 12 lb 12 oz when I install the new Ezekiel 3-30X56. So far I fired two groups with it at 100 yards. With 52 grain factory loads the group was 3/8" and with the 40 grain factory loads the group was 1/2".

It looks like I am back to my original idea of a Leupold VX-63-18X for the .375.

Yes. As soon as the new scope gets here I will do lots more shooting with it out to 300 yards and maybe farther.
