I sold my 629-"with a lock" some time ago. My idea was to replace it with an older 4" 29. Shrapnel located one for me and my finder's fee was only $300.00! Score! Little sight adjusting and I was in business. DA @ 25yds. Travis

Nah. Zoos are stupid. They don't even let you shoot at the animals. Here's a little 100yd work with the big Two-Nine this afternoon. I can't get enough of this [bleep]' thing. Travis

Those are actually Specials. I've been out of the .44 Magnum business for so long, I didn't even know where all my Magnum stuff was.
That load should be 7.5gr of Unique and the 240gr. Laser Cast SWC. My Flattop loves them as well.
When I find my Magnum brass I'll bump it to 9.5 or 10 and I'm sure they'll shoot tight.

The .44Mag is probably my favorite cartridge, I have one or two. Couple of Rugers that I'm fond of: One destined to become a .500 Bisley: A couple of S&W's: And two Marlin 1894's but no pics.

Nice 29. I have wanted one forever. In a old Flattop I used 10 grains of Unique with a 250 K and found it to be a pretty good load that would be easy on the N frame lock work. Your idea of 9.5 grains may actually be a better load.
