Well, since no one else seemed to be interested in this hunt, I stepped up to the plate and secured it a few weeks ago.
Jaco and I will take advantage of the moon phase and hunt October 15-28 for one of the big toms that he currently has hitting baits.
With any luck, we will have some time for plains game hunting with bow & rifle after getting a good cat in the salt.
Thanks Tom & Jaco for the opportunity.
Thank you Lord for everything that you bless us undeserving souls with!
The end of this hunt will mark 30 straight days on safari in South Africa and Namibia for Cape buffalo, leopard, and plains game & various predators, and 44 days total on safari in Africa for me this year.
Yep, I am feeling very blessed and also pretty stoked!

Yeah, anxious to see how it goes!
Screaming deal in todays market!
Also would like to know how full the planes are that time of year.

I know how unpredictable leopard hunts can be, with some guys going after one repeatedly for many years before ever scoring, but even so I remain very optimistic about the odds for success on this hunt.
Jaco has a better than average success rate, has multiple big toms hitting baits, and we are hunting during the dates of his choosing.
I may not be much help on the flight info ingwe, as I'm here in Angola, Africa working now and I will simply stay in Africa during my time off to do the hunts, and then return to work for my next hitch. I have noticed that flights sure are a lot cheaper this time of year vs just a couple of months earlier.
I will certainly share everything about the hunt with you guys.

When you get there, tell him Marius asks whether the Chinese has arrived. Sure he'll fill you in on the details... hahaha

Sure he'll fill you in on the details... hahaha Hi Marius, I had to email Jaco some information today so I went ahead and asked him your question. With all of the business action I'm seeing in Angola from the Chinese, I can only imagine what you guys were discussing... Thanks for all of the well wishes guys! I'm am confident that I will have a great time in Namibia with Jaco. There's a few critters there other than the leopard that I'd like to take. Mountain zebra, springbok, caracal & a few others will be on my hit list if I'm fortunate enough to get my cat in time. I'll see how it goes in about 3 weeks!

I should not have opened this thread. I laugh at your weakening willpower. I spit on your soon to be depleted checkbook.

Tom...so sorry to hear you can't make the trip I was going to pay for.
I'll text you updates and pics, though.

Damn. I don't need to hunt another leopard but I think it would be good humor if you got scratched up a bit and I was there to see it. Its really fun to put yourself in a position where the cat scares you really big time.

Paying 30K for another Africa trip when I didn't get my leopard last time is enough of a scare. I'll rise to the occasion, though.
Plus, I won't shoot mine in the ass.

Mine got shot everywhere before it was all done. But the real fun part is when you are asking yourself " How much does this cost to get scared this bad?"
