Stumbled upon one of these for sale in a 260 remington. Does anyone have any information about this rifle? I checked the browning website and couldn't find anything. Anyone happen to know the twist rate? Also found one in a 284. Any and all information is appreciated. Thanks

Believe they made a run of these in 2012. Unlike the standard Micro, this one has a full LOP and came with 22" tube.
Weight was 6.5 lbs and mags held 3.
Think they only made 100 in .284
Don't have any info on twist rates.

Looks like one in 284 is listed on Guns International. A bolt II, Feather light Micro. Hmmmmm...I was familiar with the Micro Hunter and the Micro Medallion.

I am kind of intrigued about the 284 the more I read about it It's definitely a rifle looneys cartridge. Anybody sensible would just get a 7mm-08.

I have an A-Bolt 'Micro-Medallion' in 284, it's about all I use lately for deer or black bear. Yes, ballistics are not much more than the 7mm-08. If you're a reloader no reason not to get a 284 Winchester.
I see a few of the newer one's at times on Gunbroker or Armslist.

My .284 is a shooter. 425 yards Dang, are you leaning against something in that picture, or shooting that good while doing crunches?

I finally made my mind up and going with the 284. Should be here in a week or so. So you got the Browning? Do you reload? What use do you have in mind? You may see advice to top out with 140 grn bullet weights due to the shorter necks with the 284 case. I think the 140 grn(or less) bullet is enough to get the job done. Most of my loads are with 120 & 140 grn bullets, 139 too. I think the more you use the 284 Win, the more you will like it. The cartridge was ahead of it's time when introduced back in 1963. I think one thing that hurt was it was slow to be chambered in a quality bolt gun

I got it! Will reload. For now it's deer, hogs and varmints. To me it's a short action 280, which I love. So will see time hunting mulies and elk. I think I am going to start off with the 140 grain Accubond
