I was travelling to my new job and I go by this fair sized gun shop. Naturally I stop in to look around. Only one model 99 in the place and it is a 308 clip fed model so I dont really even look at it. I ask the guy about Savage ammo for my HP or 303 and he says "Well let me check in the back." He comes back and says he has one box of 303.

<br>The story goes bad here. Turns out the guy wants 39.95 for it. I let it stay put.

<br>I figured you guys would rather hear a real world story about how terrible things are instead of another story that never happens to any of the rest of us. Lets keep looking though!

NY- It's hard to believe (Especially since I stick with .22's), but the price that fellow wanted for that box of ctgs. seems rather cheap. Have you checked the price on (I know this is non-Savage related) .308/NATO rounds; for a box of 20? You should see what people are asking for those Savage rounds, if you can find 'em, down here in the South! This is not to say that you did the wrong thing by walking away from them. Take care- Jack

I must just have a handful of better sources then. I can walk out of my door, drive 2 miles and get a few boxes of 303 for about 25 a box. I am not saying where, but he also sells me 22 highpower for a price in the 20s.
