Maybe, just maybe, instead of designing new bullets for defunct calibers, Hornady should try producing the bullets on their suspension list?

Just received my Rem 700 from Douglas Barrels. Its got a new Heavy Carbine barrel in 8x57, sort of my Southeastern Sendero.

The 170 grain will be perfect for Whitetails...

I use to run the 195 gr. Interlock for the woods @ about 2200fps. , but often thought that it was too tough @ that speed. Went back to the Interlock 170 RN @ 2500fps. For years I ran Speers, Sierras, Corelocts,& various Factories. Before the internet, I never knew that I had a problem. Think I'll stick with the RN.

Cool, mine should be here tomorrow.

I've killed a dozen or so deer with the 180 grain Ballistic Tip, they work like a champ. The Hornady 150 gr kills good to but has a sucky BC.

Sure why not? If that was the only bullet I had in my rifle at the time and an elk tag in my pocket.....I'm sure it would reach the vitals. Heck the 162 grain SST in .284 is supposed to be a tough bullet and reported African game taken with it. Don't imagine this wouldn't work, I was thinking more in line for hog, deer, bullet but wouldn't pass up an elk if it is what I had in the gun. I think this offers a lighter weight bullet to compete with the standard rifle calibers?
