I turned 65 this morning. You would think they would cut an old guy some slack but NO, the are working me to death! It ain't fair I tell you! mad

First I had to roo some sheep. Rooing is what you do with Icelandic sheep instead of shearing. The natural break in the fiber allows the fleece to be removed by hand.

Here I am hard at work!

Then they made me help put up new cross fencing.

[Linked Image]

Next we had to start new plantings. Here I am mixing the soil, compost, and peat moss then we saturate it with water.
[Linked Image]

The saturated soil is pressed into soil blocks and the seed is planted. My poor fingers are about worked down to nubs.

[Linked Image]

Had to empty the trailer of compost and dirt by shovle and wheelbarrow.

And cover a berm with it.

Worst part is there is more to come.

I see the problem; your "coffee" cup is in the wrong hand in the last picture. You quit alternating it so you wore yourself out.

Happy B'day!

all of this is proof that at one time you were in the navy where you learned your management skills.
How come they didn't provide a chair for you? The inhumanity of it.

I am asking the same question about the chair.

Yes, my navy days taught be the important skill of holding a coffee cup with either hand, a skill that has served me well.

It's really hard on a fellow being around all that work. Best wishes for your prompt recovery.

Given the ever present cup, I can't see where it's possible for one to really accomplish much. I'd suggest one move into management. Supervisors can step in and do the job in a pinch. Managers are incapable of labor being paid strictly for their organizational skills.
