I tried them just for fun in my 7mm Bee. I tried RL 22 and the 154 Hornady Spire point!

Boom! 3300 fps and this

Awesome. Looks like 5/8" to me fotis. Are all of your groups consistent and in the same ballpark? I have very good luck with the 162 A-max and BTSP interlock. So much in fact, that I sold my 154's about 3 weeks ago because I didn't think I'd need them. 3300 fps is nice in a 7mm mag. Also, have you tried any 5 shot groups with these bullets. I know keith, here, swears by the 154gr. Even for elk.

Fotis, That is some smoking hot Wby! Sweet! I use the 154 in 4 different cartridges. Solid bullet and still fairly reasonable in price. Maybe back down a bit if you can keep good groups, that baby is gonna be a hand grenade if you come up to something in the same zip code! LOL. Just mic the outside and take off a diameter saves all that mental gymnastic stuff I forgot years back and you can get down to the triple digit details we all love and cherish.
That looks like maybe .573 in. or less :-)!!!

BSA. Barrel heats up like crazy so no 5 shot groups. It is very consistent though...and with all flat based bullets.

Hates the hell out of boat tails though...weird. Shot 150 partitions at 1" and 1.2" with 7828sc and rl22 respectively though.

I have some 162 sst's I gotta sell I think

Fotis,
It is not rare for Weatherby's to dislike boat tail bullets. I have seen that many times in difference Weatherby Chamberings with freebore.
The 2 without, liked just about anything I put through them.

Fortis, I have shot a number of the 154 inter bonds, in a 280 Ackley. They seem to shoot very well.

I have not used them on game yet but I would not hesitate to do do.

Yea Ted, I have for many years. I picked off 500 blems from Midway a couple years back because I really like RNs for whitetails in the "back yard". I'm not sure if they are totally gone or just suspended like some other stuff from H.
I got 150 or left and I'm gonna use sparingly in case I live to be 100.

My family has killed many elk and deer with the 154g Hornady Sp in a variety of 7 Mags, this bullet is rated by hornady as being an elk bullet.

We had two loads that we used that seemed to work very well in Rem 700's and browning a bolts:

63.0g of IMR 4350 with a Rem 9 1/2~3100 fps

and 69-73g of R#25, win large rifle mag primer(very important) at 3200 fps, please start at 69g and work up if you try this load.

We have killed elk as far as 550 yards with the 63.0g load. As a deer load, it is simply fantastic, and we do aim for the shoulders.

Large hogs are a great for a test of a bullet. This "interlock" will shoot holes through both shoulders on broadside 300 lb hog shots. We have had more than one person really surprised at the penetration of this non barnes bullet.

In all cases, we found best accuracy with the bullet seated firmly on the lands.

Good luck

My buddy bought a 7-08 Kimber so his wife and daughters could use it, too.
They killed 17 animals, including 7 elk, with that gun the the 154 interlock.
He said it was and one of his favorite bullets.
I bought a box and my Tikka loves them, but I haven't shot any animals with them.

The 154 grain SP and RN are both OUT of Production with Hornady.. moving on to 'better' stuff....with trendier names...

Personally I think it was one of the better choices for a 7 mm bullet...

but more hunters prefer 'new high tech' stuff with spiffy names, than something that is just old, tried and true....

They are Temporarily unavailable like a lot of Hornady bullets. Not discontinued, But I am pretty sure I can get the 150 Partition under MOA. The first loads did 1" and 1.25" with 7828 and RL 22 respectively.

It's the favorite bullet of my 7x57 - by far.

Across 5 hogs & 1 Dall ram, it's dropped every one of them exactly where they stood. (except for the ram, who had the audacity to roll several hundred yards down the hill). Ranges from 15 feet to 300-ish yards.

The exit wounds have shown very little expansion, but I'm launching them at speeds so low that they would only invite derision if I were to list them here. They 154's are exceptionally accurate at that speed, though, so I just go kill stuff with 'em.

I'd have no qualms at all about hunting elk with them. I've never shot them at magnum speeds, so I might try them on milk jugs, or newspaper, or logs, just to satisfy my curiosity. I highly doubt, though, that such results would convince me not to use this bullet.

FWIW, I believe Dogzapper is a hearty proponent of the 154 Interlock. If you do a Google search for this site, you'll likely find several threads where he praises it.

When I heard they were suspending production I picked up 2 boxes of the 154 IL.

Looking forward to trying them out in my 7mm mag. I'm getting low on Accubonds and can't seem to find any up here so the Hornady's might be next season's moose bullet for me.

I believe this bullet is out of production...at least for now.

My 7x57 loves this bullet. but I've only used them on whitetails and have been satisfied with them.
