Took my Dads 27 out today,to sight in the Williams Fire Sights. They shot loose twice. They have 2 allen screws to tighten them in the dove tail. Finally got them secured. Best group was about 6inches at 20yrds. Is this a typical group for this .40 Glock?

Not at all.

That gun is more capable than you would think. See Hickcock45 on UTube shoot his and hit his 70 yd gong repeatedly with it.

The shorter barrel and sight radius make it harder to shoot accurately but the pistol itself is very capable of a high degree of accuracy. Mine is and is my EDC.

I shoot a 26 just as good as a 19, if I have been shooting the 26 quite a bit I acutally shoot it better until I get used to shooting the 19. baby glocks shoot just as well as full size guns there is no difference. knowing you have a gun that shoots that well brings comfort to situations you might encounter. that said most self defense is inside 7 yards.

I took mine out and it shot very well. I shoot it 10x better then my USP, which needs a new home.

I don't look at by autos the same as say my Colt Andacoda. Meaning I will work up a handload for my revolvers that I might hunt extended ranges with.

I used to shoot my Gen 3 model 27 better than my Gen 3 model 35. I think it was due mostly to the sights, though.

The 27 is absolutely capable of very good accuracy if you are able to watch the front sight and squeeze a trigger.

When I worked for a Sheriff once upon a time, my new Chief Deputy showed up at the range with a Glock 27 he couldn't shoot terribly well. He brought it to me on one of our breaks and asked if I'd shoot it .... you know, to see if the sights were off.

We were standing about 40 yards from a 10" plate we have permanently mounted in a corner of the range for just such things.

I turned the pistol upside down, took careful aim and pulled the trigger with my little finger. One shot - one hit. That particular Glock 27 seemed to shoot OK .... but it's just a sample of one.

Bet that chief deputy was thrilled! wink

I bought my issued G27 couple years ago. It is very accurate. Ayoob attributes that accuracy to the dual recoil spring setup that originated on the 27 & 26 and are now on all Gen4s.

Six inch groups could be ammo or technique related.

This was the first time I have spent much time with it. I have had National Gold Cups, Auto Ordinance autos, Can't count how many Contender barrels I have had, numerous Smiths ,Rugers,Virginian Dragoons, Taurus's, and more. May need to play with more loads. Am using Nosler 180HPs,fueled by 5.8gr Unique.

CLEAN IT!. Glocks will fire without the barrel hood being 100% locked up. Bullets go all over the place.

here is an an interesting story ayoob tells about the baby glocks, I have also found it to be true. I think I shoot my 26 better than my 19.

Funny- I always shot my 27 better than my 23 and ended up carrying my 27 nearly every day and selling the 23. I can shoot a one-ragged-hole group from combat distance with my 27 if not ripping through a magazine and taking my time. I'm more than pleased with the accuracy of this pistol!

Hickok rings the gong at 230 yards with his stock Glock 27.
