I prefer the red text. Helps me find particular passages for which I am looking.

I like the multiple language versions. KJ, Greek, Hebrew and modern English all side by side.

You mean interlinear, I think. I have the bible in a set like that. Makes it a lot easier to show the cult religions where they are way off base.

I also have the bible in a multiple versions format, with KJV, NAS, NLT and NIV all side by side. Very useful when trying to really grasp the truest meaning and depth of a passage.

To answer the original question, yes I do find red letter versions very helpful.

YES! And it should make you think of red state and republicans.

It certainly helps to determine Christ's actual statements. (But then so many people forget that he spoke in English.) wink

(Point being that the red words are just as open to interpretation/translation over the years as any of the rest.)

Bit of trivia here, FWIW2U

Printing Jesus's words in red is a very recent innovation.

It was the magazine Christian Herald, IIRC, that first offered such Bibles or New Testaments as subscription premiums in the early 20th century.

I prefer my Bible to be black and white . . . . . . and read all over. laugh

Never had a red letter edition, and actually never saw the need.

At least one famous passage printed in red are NOT the words of Jesus ("For God so loved the world ."). John wrote that.

I've always been a little disappointed in the red letter editions. Because his words in the Old Testament are never printed in red.
