I have an action I need to turn to cash (my job contract is about to tank). I'm just not going to be able to rebuild as I intended. 1940 manufacture date. Action is pretty good shape (for original finish)and complete. There is however some pitting on the bottom metal. Email is the best way to reach me if you are interested and I'll send more pics if needed. Asking $325 shipped CONUS (MO only, please).

Good price for something that scarce. SR, intermediate length, 3 lug 98. Perfect for a 7x57, 6.5x55, etc.....

I've got 4 Mexican Mausers and really like them alot.I don't know whats going on, but I've noticed that no Mauser action seems to be selling well. Be it a Mark X, JC Higgins,Kar 98, or the Mex.it doesn't make since to me, there's not that many left out there according to Dave at IT&D, not that they're rare or anything like that. IMHO Mausers in general are one of the best actions available. Anyone else notice this? --- Mel

completely un-scientific questioning of the average gunsmiths about building a rifle and they want RemChesters.....great smiths of the past that could turn a K98 into art are few and far between these days

Its prolly a cost thing it costs more to put a barred action together than to buy a complete rifle off the rack.

yes olblue
seams like a Remington 700 action will go 4 to 500
but mausers just keep dropping
I also think more people have less $$ than the powers
will admit

Aging population of shooters. smile

The younger, cool kids want Rem 700's or clones to build belly guns and shoot knats in the eye at 1000 yards. They don't believe there is any value in building on an 80 year old action, and the advantages of the design are lost on them.

Pretty easy to see this stuff just on here.
